Ingredients For creamed corn

  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 sm
    onion finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 3/4 cup c
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    heavy cream
  • 4 c
    corn
  • 1/8 tsp
    dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make creamed corn

  • 1
    Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the onions; cooking for 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle with flour; continue cooking for 2 minutes stirring continuously.

    Stir in the milk and cream in increments; alternating between the two. Stir continuously until smooth.

    Stir in corn, dried thyme, dried parsley, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer 10-15 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons butter and stir to melt. Use fresh, canned or frozen corn. If fresh steam, roast, microwave or boil to cook before you start the recipe.
