Ingredients For creamed (cheese) spinach

  • 2 pkg
    (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    chopped green onion
  • 4 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 4 oz
    cream cheese
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 pinch
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 c
    grated parmesan (optional)

How To Make creamed (cheese) spinach

    Thaw spinach and squeeze all the water out. (I put it in a colander and use a potato masher to squeeze all the water out.) Set aside.

    In a large sauce pan, heat butter over medium heat. Add green onion and garlic, season with salt and pepper. Cook just until flavors are brought out.

    Add cream cheese and milk, cook, stirring constantly until cream cheese is melted.

    Stir in spinach and simmer until mixture is warmed through. Season with salt & pepper to taste. Garnish with a little grated parmesan cheese if desired.
