found this in an old recipe box I started when I was a teenager. Looked good so I drug it out to share.

Ingredients For chinese cabbage salad

  • 1
    medium size head chinese or celery cabbage
  • 1 can
    13 3/4 oz. pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 1 can
    6 to 8 oz sliced water chestnuts
  • 3/4 c
    sliced green onions
  • soy dressing, (below)
  • SOY DRESSING
  • 3/4 c
    mayonaise or miracle whip
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauc
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground ginger

How To Make chinese cabbage salad

  • 1
    cut cleaned cabbage leaves into thin slices
  • 2
    place in large salad bowl
  • 3
    add pineapple, water chestnuts and onions, mix well
  • 4
    just before serving add soy dressing. toss gently until salad is coated.

    soy dressing directions: mix all together using a fork or wisk until well blended. makes 3/4 cup
