This is a good vegetable dish for buffets. A little different from the usual green bean casserole.

Ingredients For cheesy green bean casserole

  • 3 Tbsp
    melted butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    grated onion
  • 1 c
    dairy sour cream
  • 12 oz
    pkg. green beans, thawed and cooked
  • 1/2 lb
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c
    corn flakes, crushed
  • 1/4 c
    crispy cooked bacon, chopped

How To Make cheesy green bean casserole

  • 1
    Combine 2 Tablespoons butter and flour; cook gently. Remove from heat; stir in seasoning and sour cream. Fold in beans. Place in shallow 2 quart casserole. Cover with cheese, then with crushed corn flakes mixed with 1 Tablespoon butter and bacon bits. Bake in moderate oven 350^ for 30 minutes.
