Here's me trying to make cauliflower with cheese sauce like how my mother-in-law used to do. Except she made enough for a crowd! Hubby said I nailed it!

Ingredients For cauliflower with cheese sauce for two

  • approximately 2 cups of steamed cauliflower florets
  • THE CHEESE SAUCE
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    flour
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • dash
    onion powder
  • dash
    cayenne
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 1/2
    slices of white american cheese (like slices from the deli)

How To Make cauliflower with cheese sauce for two

    Steam the cauliflower to preferred doneness. (You can use fresh or frozen) Drain well and set aside, cover to keep warm.

    THE CHEESE SAUCE In a small pan melt the butter and whisk in the flour until smooth. Gradually add the milk, on low/medium heat, keep whisking until it has thickened.

    Stir in the salt, pepper, onion powder, and cayenne. Add the cheese and stir until melted.
  • Pouring on the cheese sauce.

    Place the cooked cauliflower in a bowl, and just before serving pour on the cheese sauce.
