Experimenting with brussel sprouts to make them attractive for my young kids to eat! These came out sweet, salty and crispy.

Ingredients For carmelized brussel sprouts

  • 10
    brussel sprouts
  • pinch
    coarse sea salt
  • pinch
    black pepper
  • 3 Tbsp
    honey
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil

How To Make carmelized brussel sprouts

    Preheat oven to 400. Heat olive oil in cast-iron pan; into olive oil add pinch of salt and pepper.

    Cut ends off sprouts, then slice in half, length-wise. Save fallen leaves to the side.

    Add to pan, flat side down.

    Sear undisturbed, for 3 min.

    Give them a good mix, turn heat off pan.

    Add fallen leaves to pan. Pour 2 tbsp of honey over the sprouts; transfer pan to oven. Let roast for 5 min.

    Remove from oven, stir, and pour remaining honey on top. Cover loosely with foil and let sit for 5 min.
