My husband and I love caramelized onions. They are fantastic on steak, sandwiches, and warm salads. This takes a little time but the flavor is awesome !

Ingredients For caramelized onions

  • 2 lg
    onions, medium sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    real butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 2 - 3 pinch
    kosher salt

How To Make caramelized onions

    Cut onions in medium thick slices.
  • 2
    In a large skillet over medium heat melt butter. Cook for a minute or two then skim off milk solids.

    Add olive oil, sliced onions and salt. Cook 30 minutes stirring often. You do not want to leave unattended.
