I have 12 grand kids that love this combination. Getting them to eat vegatables is a task and having enough for all of them at one time can be expensive. So I came up with out family favorite and some may have done it before but its a hit every time with my group and inexpensive and quick to prepare.

Ingredients For cabbage delight

  • 1-2 md
    cabbage head
  • 3-5 lb
    smoked sauge
  • 1 1/8 sm
    onion
  • 1 sm
    bell pepper
  • 1 c
    bread and butter pickle juice

How To Make cabbage delight

    Collect and wash ingredients' you will need medium to large heavy boiler add 1/3 water to boiler and begin to boil add pinch of salt to water cut 1-lb of sausage ( I prefer to use Renfro smoked sausage for their rich robust flavor)up into the boiling water then slice cabbage in to medium sized slices into boiler over sausage repeat process until all the sausage and cabbages are added chopp onions and bell pepper into boiler and fold in

    cover and let boil for 15 minutes Pour bread and butter pickle juice for a sweet and sour flavor. ( i use 1/2 cup) add final seasonings:salt and pepper, chop some jalepones sometimes into it to add a little flare cover and let cook another 15 minutes on high. Cabbages are cooked to tender not mushy texture. Serve with cornbread, gawla a meal.. Really tasty
