I had never cooked cabbage, but in 2012, I decided that our family needed all the luck, money, and health that we could get. My daughter-in-law, loved it and said that she never ate cabbage. I laughed and told her that I never cooked cabbage either.

Ingredients For buttered cabbage

    head cabbage, cored and shredded
  • 1/2
    onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 1/4 c
    margarine
  • salt and pepper, to taste

How To Make buttered cabbage

  • 1
    Shred cabbage and chop the onion.
  • 2
    Heat the oil. Saute the onion until it is tender.
  • 3
    Add the cabbage and cook until tender.
  • 4
    Add the margarine, salt, and black pepper and cook covered until margarine is melted.
