Ingredients For broccoli with asian inspired hollandaise sauce

  • 1 bunch
    broccoli broken into florets and trimed.
  • 7 Tbsp
    butter melted
  • 3 lg
    egg yolks
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    room temp butter
  • 1/4 tsp
    each salt, white pepper and ground sichuan peppercorns
  • 1 tsp
    each grated ginger and grated lemon zest

How To Make broccoli with asian inspired hollandaise sauce

    Mix the salt, sichuan peppercorns, white pepper ginger and lemon zest together and set aside.

    Place a pan big enough to hold the broccoli on the stove. Add some salt and bring it to a rolling boil. Add the broccoli and lower heat to a simmer.

    In another pan whisk the egg yolks and 1 tbsp of room temp butter and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Whisk over the top of the boiling broccoli until it becomes pale yellow and thickened. Remove from heat and whisk in the melted butter. Stir in the remaining lemon juice and the seasoning mixture.

    Drain the broccoli and serve the hollandaise on top. Serve immediately
