broccoli stalks
We buy fresh broccoli by the pound paying for the stalks too but we many times cut them off and throw them away along with all the nutrients. If you peel them you get to a really tender center. I use them as a crunch element in soups, stews and cut into matchstick size for stir fries. I also sometimes just saute them in a little butter and salt. Delish
