I have been making this every Thanksgiving and Christmas since I found this recipe in a church cookbook in 1981. This is one of my families favorite side dishes at the Holiday dinner table.

Ingredients For broccoli rice casserole

  • 1 pkg
    frozen chopped broccoli
  • 1 c
    rice
  • 1/3 c
    butter
  • 1
    medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    chopped celery
  • 1 jar
    cheese whiz (small jar)
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup

How To Make broccoli rice casserole

  • 1
    Cook broccoli according to package directions and drain well. Cook the cup of rice. Melt the butter and saute onion and celery. Mix broccoli, rice, onion and celery; add cheese whiz and undiluted soup. Put in small casserole dish; bake in a 350 degree oven, uncovered for 30 minutes.
