4 qtsliced cucumbers

1 ptsliced onions

1/4 cuniodized salt

5 csugar

3 cvinegar

1 1/2 tspturmeric

1 1/2 tspcelery seed

2 tspmustard seed
How To Make bread & butter pickles, aunt margie's

1Wash, but do not pare medium sized cucumbers. Slice thin and add onion and salt. Cover with ice cubes, stir occasionally. Let stand 3 hours. Drain. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over cucumber mixture. Heat JUST TO BOILING. Can and seal. Makes about 6 pints. The less boiling the crisper the pickles are. Extra juice can be saved and used in another batch.
