I got this recipe from a Heloise column back in the 70's! I make it so often. My husband loves these and so do I.

Ingredients For bootlegger beans

1 canpork and beans

1 smonion, chopped

1/4 ccatsup
-
1/4 cbrown sugar or splenda

1-2 Tbspchili powder

2-3 slicebacon, fried crisp and crumbled
How To Make bootlegger beans

1Fry bacon till crisp, remove from pan and crumble.

2Add onion and fry till slightly browned

3Add pork and beans and other ingredients. Cook till somewhat thickened.

4Add bacon and serve
