You will love having this recipe in your arsenal when unexpected guests arrive, or even if you have had a busy day and are short on time. Throw a steak on the grill and whip this side dish up. It takes less than 15 minutes to make it. I serve it in the bowl I am making it in. No need to make the dressing separately.   • 1/2 head cabbage cut in half, core removed
  • 1 large carrot grated
  • 4 green onions, chopped fine
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, cut in slivers
  • 1/2 orange bell pepper, cut in slivers
  • 2 tablespoons virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • Cabbage...Choose a tight head. Smaller cabbage is more tender.

    This side dish can be made in less than 15 minutes. People love this stuff. Take it to the barbecue. Prep all the veggies, starting with the cabbage and give it a thin knife cut. Grate the carrot and sliver the peppers. Place all the ingredients in a large glass bowl. I buy those bags of small bell peppers in Walmart. They keep so well and are perfect for dishes like this.

    Add the oil and vinegar to the bowl. Then add the salt, sugar and pepper.
