The spread that goes on the bread is wonderful. I used sweet Italian sausage when I made this recipe and it paired well with the asparagus. This is one very yummy side dish.

24 stalkfresh asparagus, ends trimmed

4 ozcream cheese with chives

4 ozblue cheese

1/4 cdiced red radish

2 Tbspdijon mustard

2 Tbspmayonnaise

2 Tbspmango chutney

12 slicesoft bread

1/4 lbbulk Italian sausage, browned, crumbled

1/4 cbutter, melted

1 Tbspsmoked paprika
How To Make blooming asparagus roll-ups

1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2Stir together cream cheese, blue cheese, radish, mustard, mayonnaise and chutney. Roll each bread slice with a rolling pin to flatten. Spread one side of each with 2 tablespoons cream cheese mixture and top with 1 tablespoon sausage. Place 2 asparagus spears in the middle of each prepared bread slice and roll up. Place each roll, seam side down, on a baking sheet and brush lightly with butter.

3Sprinkle with paprika and bake for 12 minutes, until golden. So good!
