Black walnuts are a favorite of mine since we had a tree when I grew up. A very distinct taste that inspired this tasty salad ...perfect side for any occasion !

Ingredients For black walnut-broccolini salad

  • 1/4 c
    soft cream cheese, melted
  • 2 Tbsp
    white wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    honey
  • 2 tsp
    peanut oil
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    mayonaise
  • 4 c
    chopped broccolini
  • 1/2 c
    crispy cooked bacon pieces
  • 1/2 c
    soft golden raisins
  • 3/4 c
    chopped black walnuts
  • 2/3 c
    chopped red onions

How To Make black walnut-broccolini salad

    In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted cream cheese, vinegar, honey, peanut oil, onion powder, salt, and mayo. Whisk until well-blended, then cover and place in fridge for 5 minutes.

    In a large bowl combine the broccolini, bacon, golden raisins, black walnuts and red onions.

    Pour the dressing over the veggies and toss together.

    Cover and chill 15-20 minutes.

    Place the lightly chilled salad on serving plate or bowl.
