Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by my Great Aunt Effie.

Ingredients For aunt effie's bean and corn casserole

1 canfrench style green beans, drained

1 canshoe peg corn, drained

1/2 cchopped onion

1/2 cchopped celery
-
1/2 cchopped green bell pepper

1/2 cshredded cheese
-
1 cancream of celery soup
-
1/2 csour cream
-
1 stickbutter
-
1 ccrushed cracker crumbs
How To Make aunt effie's bean and corn casserole

1Mix green beans, corn, onion, celery, bell pepper, cheese, soup and sour cream together well and place in a buttered baking dish.

2Melt 1 stick butter and mix with 1 cup crushed cracker crumbs.

3Spread buttered cracker crumbs over mixture and bake 40 minutes at 350°F.
