These is more of a method than a recipe.I like to cook the broccoli just until tender,not soft.Add just enough red pepper flakes for a hint of heat,not spicy and I like to add the garlic at the end so it doesn't burn and I like the flavor of garlic with broccoli. I find people who don't like broccoli,love it cooked this way. I roast most vegetables,it brings the flavor out,I think. Carrots are especially tasty cooked this way as well.

Ingredients For roasted garlic broccoli

  • broccoli,cut into large florets,including tender stems
  • olive oil
  • juice of half a lemon
  • salt
  • pepper
  • crushed red pepper flakes
  • freshly grated parmesan cheese

How To Make roasted garlic broccoli

    Preheat the oven to 425°F. In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil and lemon juice until lightly coated. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the broccoli and toss to coat. Arrange the broccoli florets in a single layer on a greased baking sheet. Roast for 10-15 minutes, until just tender. Stir in garlic,mix well.Cook an additional 5 minutes.Put the roasted broccoli back in the bowl and toss with red pepper and grated parmesan cheese.Check for salt. Serve immediately.
