opps! baked beans

This was an Opps! With a Capital O! I asked my grandson to go to the pantry and get me 1 large can of baked beans and a small can. He brought them back to me and I opened both of the cans. When I took the lid off the large can, it was SO thick, so was the little can. Well, now or I should have said "before" I should have put on my glasses! He had brought me two cans of "bean and bacon soup"! Well, what to do now? I looked in the pantry and behold, I didn't have any baked beans in it. Well, I said okay, here we go.

Ingredients For opps! baked beans

  • 1 lg
    can of bean and bacon soup (condensed)
  • 1 sm
    can of bean and bacon soup (condensed)
  • 1 sm
    can cannelini beans
  • 4-6 Tbsp
    ketsup
  • 3 Tbsp
    prepared mustard
  • 1/2 c
    packed brown sugar
  • dehydrated or fresh chopped onions to taste (optional)
  • enough water (aprox 3/4 c. water

How To Make opps! baked beans

  • 1
    Open all cans. Drain the cannelini beans.
  • 2
    Add all ingredients to a 2 qt microwave dish. Stir to incorporate all ingredients
  • 3
    Place in Microwave uncovered for 30 minutes stirring every 8 minutes, adding water if too thick. Enjoy. What was an OPPS, turned into a SAVE!
