Ingredients For fried okra

  • 1 bag
    (12 oz.) frozen okra, thawed
  • 1 c
    yellow corn meal
  • 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground pepper
  • 1 c
    milk
  • oil for deep frying

How To Make fried okra

  • 1
    Mix together flour and cornmeal. Season with salt and pepper to taste
  • 2
    soak the okra milk, then dredge in flour-cornmeal mixture.

    Place okra in deep hot oil and fry on medium-high heat until golden brown. Stir occasionally so all sides get browned.

    Drain on a wire rack or paper towel. Sprinkle with just a small pinch more of salt.
