crunchy holiday stuffing
Despite the name of this recipe, it's so easy you could make it any time of year, not just for holidays. It's a bit different, in that I've never added carrots before, but why not? The crunchy onions on top give it more texture. I also added sage for flavor. Recipe & photo: French's.com 10-16-14

Ingredients For crunchy holiday stuffing

1/2 c(1 stick) butter

1-1/2 cchopped celery

1-1/2 cchopped carrots

1 pkg(14 oz.) stuffing

1 can(14.5 oz.) chicken broth

1 cwater
-
2 tspdried sage
-
2 cfrench fried onions
How To Make crunchy holiday stuffing

1Melt butter in a large pot. Stir in vegetables and saute for 5 minutes.

2Add stuffing, broth, and water; stir until moistened. Gently stir in 1 cup onions and the sage. Spoon stuffing into 3-qt. baking dish.

3Cover and bake in a preheated 350º oven for 20 minutes. Uncover, sprinkle with remaining onions, and bake 5 minutes more or until onions are golden.
