  • 1 Tbsp
    butter, room temperature
  • 4 lg
    garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 c
    onions, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp
    sugar
  • dash
    pepper, [to our taste]
  • 1 can
    [14 oz] chicken broth, fat-free
  • 1 1/2 lb
    green beans, fresh [cut in 1 inch pieces]
  • 6-8 slice
    bacon, cooked and crumbled

    IN A SAUCEPAN, MELT BUTTER AND OLIVE OIL OVER A MEDIUM HEAT.

    ADD ONIONS, COOK ABOUT 2 MINUTES, THEN ADD GARLLIC; DO NOT LET GARLIC BURN.

    ADD CHICKEN BROTH, SUGAR, SALT AND PEPPER; BRING TO A BOIL.

    ADD GREEN BEANS, RETURN TO BOILING, COVER AND REDUCE HEAT TO LOW.
