broccoli and cheese on rice

I love rice and so does my mom,but my husband don't like rice of any kind.We all love broccoli and cheese so I kinda threw it all together without throwing it together.

Ingredients For broccoli and cheese on rice

  • 1 bag
    frozen broccoli florets
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 pkg
    onion soup mix
  • 2 c
    water(from broccoli)
  • 1 c
    white rice
  • velvetta cheese

How To Make broccoli and cheese on rice

    Preheat oven to 350
  • 2
    Put broccoli in a pot and cover it with water, add salt and pepper and let it come to a boil, cook for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat,save 2 cups of the water for the rice.Drain the rest off.

    In a casserole dish let your butter melt in the oven,then add the rice,the onion soup mix and hot broccoli water stir a little bit then add the broccoli,cover with foil and place in preheated 350 degree oven.

    Bake for about 40 to 45 min. Take off the foil and add velvetta cheese on top covering all the broccoli,place back in oven for another 10 minutes or so.

    I don't stir the broccoli with the rice,it is actually suppose to be layered.
