Ingredients For steakhouse-style stewed tomato casserole

1 smonion, chopped

4 Tbspbutter

1 1/2 cbread cubes (dry, plain)

1/2 clight brown sugar

5 ccanned tomatoes (crushed, diced or fire-roasted)

1 tspsalt (or to taste)

1/2 tspfreshly ground black pepper
How To Make steakhouse-style stewed tomato casserole

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Saute onion in butter until soft, but not browned. Add bread cubes and brown sugar. Cook and stir over low heat for 3-5 minutes. Stir in tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.

2Transfer mixture to a greased shallow casserole dish. Bake 30-40 minutes or until bubbly.
