My mom's ,and now my family's favorite Thanksgiving side dish. Crusty savory soft inside Holiday dish. Yum!

Ingredients For bread dressing or bread stuffin' muffins

  • 1-
    2 lb loaf of wheat bread-dried out
  • 1/2 lb
    country sausage,cooked and drained
  • 1/2 lb
    bacon,cooked and drained
  • 1 lg
    onion,chopped
  • 4 lg
    stalks celery,choped
  • 2-3 c
    chicken broth
  • 2-4 tsp
    poulry seasoning or sage
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make bread dressing or bread stuffin' muffins

    Break bread into large bowl. Set aside. Meanwhile, cook Sausage, drain. Using the same skillet, Fry Bacon, reserve bacon drippings to use later in the dressing.

    When bacon has cooled, Crumble Bacon into Bread bowl. Add in crumbled sausage also. Using 1 Tablespoon bacon drippings, saute' celery and onion (Adding in as raw is ok too) Combined all ingredients into bowl. Stir .Pour over the Chicken Broth until just moistened. Bake in a shallow pan 350 degrees for 1-1/2 hours or use small scoop to muffin tins for an hour or until tops are crispy
