I love Rice Pilaf as a side dish. It's so flavorful and easy to make. My family loves it and it is requested often.

Ingredients For rice pilaf

  • 2 c
    basmati or long grain rice
  • 3 1/2 c
    chicken broth
  • 1/2
    of a small onion, finely diced
  • 2 Tbsp
    celery, diced small
  • 2/3 c
    red bell pepper, diced small
  • finely chopped carrots to taste
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt, or to taste

How To Make rice pilaf

  • 1
    Wash rice well and drain. In a large saucepan, heat chicken broth and butter to boiling and add vegetables and spices. Cook until tender.

    Add rice and cook on low for 20 minutes or until rice is fluffy and tender. Add more butter if desired.
