    russet potatoes, scrubbed and sliced.
  • 1&1/2 stick
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    garlic
  • 1 pkg
    14 oz kraft shredded monterrey jack cheese
  • 8 oz tillamook extra sharp cheddar
  • 8 slice
    white sharp american, i used kroger
  • 8 oz
    french onion dip
  • 1 lg
    onion, sliced
  • mushrooms, optional

    Scrub potatoes and slice. Cut onions into slices.set aside in cold water.

    Heat skillet and add butter, once butter is melted, add potatoes and onions

    Get potato/onion mixture nicely browned. Then add in the salt and pepper, french onion dip, garlic, and cheeses.

    Cover and simmer until cheese is bubbly and melted. Let the potatoes and cheddar thickened slightly before serving.
