Ingredients For smothered cottage fries

    russet potatoes peeled and slice 1/4 inch thick
  • 1 lg
    onion sliced into rings
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 8 oz
    sour cream
  • 1 pkg
    onion soup mix
  • 8 oz
    cracker barrel sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz
    cracker barrel vermont sharp cheddar cheese

How To Make smothered cottage fries

  • 1
    Add butter to large skillet. Fry the potatoes and onion until browned and softened.
  • 2
    Mix the sour cream with the onion soup mix. Add the cheeses and pour over potatoes. cook until cheese is a melted.
