Ingredients For potatoes au gratin

  • 1 pt
    cold boiled potatoes, diced
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, divided
  • 1 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    fine dry bread crumbs

How To Make potatoes au gratin

  • 1
    Put 1 TBS butter and flour in saucepan with a little salt and pepper. Cook till well mixed, then add milk and stir until smooth and thick.

    Add potatoes and simmer 5 minutes, then pour into a buttered shallow baking dish. Melt the remaining butter and pour into bread crumbs, combine and pour over potatoes.

    Put into a hot oven until the crumbs are golden brown, then serve hot.
