saucy seafood macaroni salad
I first tasted this macaroni salad at a picnic in 1978. I don't know where the recipe originated, but this is the version I have come up with. The addition of cocktail sauce is the perfect compliment to the surimi. On special occasions I use shrimp instead of the imitation crabmeat.

Ingredients For saucy seafood macaroni salad

1 boxmacaroni or pasta shells (12 ounces), cooked al dente

6 ozimitation crab, chopped (or 1/2 pound cooked shrimp)

3large eggs, hard cooked, chopped

2stalks celery, chopped

1/2 cdiced sweet onion

1/2 cfrozen peas, thawed

1 csalad dressing (not mayo)

1/3 ccocktail sauce
-
1/4 tspold bay seasoning

salt and pepper to taste
How To Make saucy seafood macaroni salad

1In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, imitation crab (or shrimp), chopped eggs, celery, onion and peas.

2In a medium bowl, combine the salad dressing, cocktail sauce and old bay. Add to pasta mixture and toss gently to coat.

3Add salt and pepper to taste.
