Ingredients For sweet cuban black beans

2 cdry black beans

2bay leaves

1/4 colive oil

1 lgred bell pepper chopped

1 lgonion chopped

6 clovegarlic minced

1 Tbsporegano

1 Tbspcumin

1 csugar
-
1/4 csherry wine

1/2red onion chopped

1/4 cfresh cilantro chopped
How To Make sweet cuban black beans

1Soak beans in salted water to cover 3 inches overnight. Drain and place in a large soup pot with bay leaves and fresh water to cover 3 inches. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer and cook until beans are tender about 2 hours.

2After an hour and a half heat oil over medium heat and add bell pepper and onion and cook until tender about 7 minutes. Add garlic, oregano, and cumin.

3Place mixture in pan with beans and add sugar, sherry, and red onions. Cook another 30 minutes. Salt to taste and add cilantro.
