nana's spaetzle - german dumplings

My German Nana used to make these by pushing the batter through a spaetzle maker or large plane grater into boiling water.

    eggs
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt

How To Make nana's spaetzle - german dumplings

    Beat eggs well; add flour, butter, milk, salt and beat til dough blisters.
  • 2
    Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Drop batter from a wet spoon into water and let cook til tender (about 15 minutes). Drain, toss with melted butter.

    Note: can also drop into soup to cook.
