Fresh, homemade applesauce is such a treat. I made several batches this year with Winesap apples from a friend's farm. Yummy!!

Ingredients For homemade applesauce

8 capples peeled and sliced

1 cwater

1 Tbsplemon juice

1/2 cbrown sugar

1 tspground cinnamon

1/4 tspnutmeg

1/4 tspallspice

dashvanilla extract
How To Make homemade applesauce

1place apple slices in large stock pot or dutch oven and cover with water.

2add remaining ingredients and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until apples are soft, approx 25-30 minutes.

3blend the mixture in the blender in small batches, until smooth.

4place applesauce in airtight containers in refrigerator. This also freezes well.
