homemade baked beans
This was my mom's recipe that she handed down to me. I always loved her baked beans. This can easily be doubled or more for large crowds of people. Perfect for a potluck or cookout. You can also bake this in a crock pot to take with you. Just bake for about 4-6 hours in crock pot instead of in oven. For the mustard, I like Dijon, but I have also used yellow mustard or Gulden's spicy mustard.

Ingredients For homemade baked beans

40 ozcan navy or great northern beans, do not drain

1/2 cpacked brown sugar (light or dark)

1/4 cdark molasses (not karo or corn syrup)

1/2 tspsalt

6 slicebacon, crisply cooked and crumbled

1 mdonion, chopped
-
1/2 to 3/4 cketchup (to your taste)

1 Tbspmustard (your favorite kind)
How To Make homemade baked beans

1Mix all ingredients together in a large casserole.

2Bake at 350 degrees, covered, for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

3Serves approximately 6-8 people.
