This is a recipe I had found years ago with a few changes. It has become one of my husband's favorites.

Ingredients For hawaiian baked beans with wieners

  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/3 c
    green pepper seeded and chopped
  • 1 can
    20 ounces pineapple chunks, reserve juice
  • 1 pkg
    wieners, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 2/3 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 2 can
    1 pound each, baked beans, drained

How To Make hawaiian baked beans with wieners

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drain pineapple chunks, reserving juice. Set juice aside for now.

    In large skillet saute onion, green pepper, pineapple and wieners in olive oil until peppers and onions are softened and pineapple and wieners begin to brown slightly. Add reserved pineapple juice, vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar and ketchup. Stir to combine well. Heat until mixture begins to bubble.

    Place drained beans in a 2 quart casserole. Pour vegetable/wiener mixture into casserole with beans. Stir well to combine.

    Bake in preheated oven 30-45 minutes. ENJOY!
