This dish is my all-time favorite go to side dish for BBQ. It also is a very satisfying meal in itself for those nights when I don't feel like cooking. I've taken this to potlucks and company picnics and everyone wants the recipe.

Ingredients For cowboy beans

1/2 lbground chuck 80/20

1/2 lbdiced bacon

1 smonion, diced

1 mdgreen bell pepper, diced

1-55 ozcan bush's baked beans

1-14.5 ozcan black beans, drained

2/3 cdark brown sugar
-
1/4 cketchup
-
1/2 tspdried mustard
-
2 Tbspmolasses
-
2 Tbspworchestershire sauce

2-3 dashhickory liquid smoke

1/2 tspgarlic powder
How To Make cowboy beans

1Brown first 4 ingredients over medium heat and drain the fat.

2In a large mixing bowl, combine remaining ingredients until well mixed.

3Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add hamburger mix to bean mixture and stir well. Pour into 13x9 baking dish and top with strips of bacon (if desired) and bake for 1 hour until beans are bubbly and bacon is browned. Enjoy!!

4Variation: HAWAIIAN COWBOY BEANS Same as above, but add a 20 oz. can of pineapple tidbits, drained. Very Yummy!
