1/4 cbutter

2 ccheddar cheese, grated

12 ozgreen chiles, drained and halved with seeds

1/2 tspsalt, optional

1 lgbay leaf , crushed

1 ccottage cheese

2 csour cream

4 crice, cooked

1 conion, chopped

parsley, chopped
How To Make california casserole

1Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish (2-quart).

2In hot butter in large skillet, saute onion until golden about 5 minutes.

3Remove from heat; stir in hot rice, sour cream, cottage cheese, bay leaf, salt (optional), and pepper; toss lightly to mix well.

4Layer half the rice mixture in bottom of baking dish, then half of chiles; sprinkle with half of cheddar cheese; repeat.

5Bake, uncovered, 25 minutes, or until bubbly and hot. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
