I like cabbage about any way, but it is the very best way to cook it this way. Very simple but very good.

Ingredients For cabbage casserole

  • 1 lg
    head of cabbage
  • 1/2 lb
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 stick
    margarine
  • 1 can
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1 md
    onion,chopped
  • 1 box
    cornbread mix prepared,cooked,crumbled

How To Make cabbage casserole

  • 1
    Cook cornbread and set aside. Cut cabbage in bite size pieces, boil in salty water,for 5 minutes. While cooking cabbage, chop onion. Drain cabbage. Mix onion, soup and cheese over cabbage while still hot. Place in buttered baking dish. Pour melted margarine over cornbread crumbs and spread over cabbage. Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
