In 2006, when he was ten years old, my grandson gave me this recipe. I've saved it on a scrap of paper, and it was taped inside a favorite cookbook. I've been hunting for this recipe, and I found it so that I could include it here. He loves good food and enjoyed helping in the kitchen whenever he came to my house. Now he's almost fifteen and busy with school and football!

This is such a comfort food, especially in the Fall or Winter; but with fresh corn during the Summer months it is great too with burgers, ham, pork or chicken!
  • 3
If fresh corn is not available use a small bag of frozen corn kernels! *Note "my grandson is part Native American Indian, and this recipe was favored by his mother's family also.

Note** My grandson says "no adding green pepper" when I suggested it! Note***It is a wonderful change from plain beans; adjust the seasonings of course to suit yourself.
