Ingredients For barley casserole

1/2 lbmushrooms

1 lgonion, finely chopped

4 Tbspbutter

1 cbarley
-
"just a pinch" of salt

"just a pinch" of pepper

3 cbeef broth
-
almonds, slivered and toasted
How To Make barley casserole

1Saute mushrooms and onions in butter.

2Don\'t let onions brown.

3Mix in barley, salt and pepper.

4Pour into buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole.

5Cover with broth to 1/2 inch above barley.

6Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, until liquid is absorbed and barley is tender.

7Garnish with almonds.
