wild rice and pecans

I love this as a side for pork chops, or roasted chicken. You can substitute walnuts for pecans if you prefer. I'm just not a fan of walnuts.

Ingredients For wild rice and pecans

1 1/2 cchicken broth

1 1/2 tspsoy sauce

1/2 tspdried thyme

3/4 cuncooked wild rice

1 mdonion, chopped

1 stalkcelery, chopped

1 Tbspbutter, melted

1/2 cpecans, chopped and toasted
How To Make wild rice and pecans

1Combine the chicken broth, soy sauce, and thyme in a heavy saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Gradually add the rice, stirring constantly.

2Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 35 to 40 minutes or until the rice is tender. Set the rice aside.

3Saute the onions and celery in butter in a large skillet until tender. Add the reserved rice and toasted pecans. Stir well and enjoy!
