Ingredients For white rice pilaf, barb

2 Tbspbutter or margarine

1 1/3 cwater

1/3 cdiced onion

1/4 tspdried basil

1/4 cdiced carrot

1/2 tspsalt

1/4 cdiced celery

1/8 tsppepper
-
1 1/2 clong grain rice
-
10 1/2 ozcondensed chicken broth, undiluted

1/4 cdiced red or green bell pepper
How To Make white rice pilaf, barb

1Place butter, onion, carrot, celery and rice in 9x13. Bake at 400 degrees until butter melts. Stir gently until vegetables and rice are coated. Add remaining. Bake, covered, at 400 degrees 50 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Press mixture into a 1/2 cup measuring cup and invert onto individual plates. If desired, garnish with red bell pepper strips or stars, or fresh parsley sprigs.
