Waaay back in the day, my first boyfriends mom made rice with her steak. I have had rice (instead of potatoes) ever since. This is my creation that I serve with london broil, barbecued steak, you name it. great flavor, and compliments meat well

Ingredients For steak rice

  • 1/2 lg
    yellow onions, chopped
  • 1 c
    long or medium grain rice, uncooked
  • 2 c
    water
  • 3 Tbsp
    cooking oil
  • 3 Tbsp
    vinegar

How To Make steak rice

  • 1
    heat oil in large frying pan on medium high heat
  • 2
    add onions, saute until slightly translucent
  • 3
    add uncooked rice, saute with onions
  • 4
    saute until rice is saturated with oil (rice becomes a different color)

    add water and vinegar to rice & onion mixture
  • 6
    bring to a boil on high heat, stirring occasionally
  • 7
    once boiling, reduce heat to low, and cover
  • 8
    cook for 20 minutes
  • 9
    fluff rice with fork and serve hot!
