I love this as a salad or dessert. We have this at Christmas,Thanksgiving and special occasions. Very easy but so good. This is an old recipe I had given to me by an elderly neighbor years ago.

Ingredients For special glorified rice

  • 1/2 c
    rice i don't like instant in this recipe)
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • COOK RICE AND SUGAR TOGETHER. YOU SHOULD END UP WITH 1 CUP RICE.
  • 1 lg
    can crushed pineapple (undrained)
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 md
    cool whip (unthawed)
  • 1 jar
    stemless maraschino cherries
  • 1 1/2 c
    miniature marshmallows

How To Make special glorified rice

  • 1
    After cooking rice and sugar together.Let cool Then mix in vanilla,crushed pineapple,Cool Whip and marshmallows. Drain about 10 maraschino cherries and gently pat dry. Put rice mixture into serving bowl and garnish with maraschino cherries on top...Chill.
