we eat a lot of rice here in Hawaii, always nice to have some variety.

Ingredients For rice a l'orange

  • 3-4 c
    hot cooked rice
  • 1 tsp
    grated orange peel
  • 1
    orange, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1/4 c
    chopped almonds (or walnuts or pecans, as you prefer)
  • 1 or 2
    green onions, sliced skinny
  • FOR EXTRA FLAVOR, ADD:
  • toasted sesame seeds, or
  • sliced black olives

How To Make rice a l'orange

  • 1
    Prepare rice. Grate and peel orange, cut into pieces.
  • 2
    Stir orange peel and orange pieces into hot rice; stir in nuts and green onions. Add black olives or seeds for different flavor.
