Buttery and delicious... this is a great side dish or good as a bed for a meat main dish. It also keeps well in the fridge for about two weeks.

Ingredients For grandmother phillips' rice pilaf

  • 1 c
    small egg noodles
  • 1 c
    long cooking rice (not minute rice)
  • 2 1/2 c
    chicken or beef broth
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • salt to taste

How To Make grandmother phillips' rice pilaf

  • 1
    Brown egg noodles lightly in melted butter.
  • 2
    Add rice and salt, stirring lightly.
  • 3
    Heat broth and add to rice mixture. Cook with lid on low heat for 25 min. *Do not remove lid to stir.

    Let stand for five minutes, remove lid, stir, and serve.
