Ingredients For five spice rice (sallye)

1 Tbspsesame oil

1 cextra long white rice

1 Tbspchinese five spice powder (make your own link in comments)

1 Tbspfinely minced fresh ginger

1/4 cdry sherry

1-1/4 cchicken broth
-
1/3 cjulienned red bell pepper

1/2 cchopped scallions (or green onions)

1 cfrozen english peas & carrots, defrosted

2 Tbspsoy sauce

chopped zest of 1 lime
How To Make five spice rice (sallye)

1Preheat oven to 350º.

2In a heavy flameproof casserole, heat the oil over medium high heat. Add the rice, five spice powder and ginger and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly Add the chicken broth, sherry, and red peppers.

3Cover the casserold with aluminum foil and bake in oven for 30 minutes Remove from oven, stir in the scallion, peas, soy sauce and lime zest. Serve immediatelyl
