Ingredients For easy cuban beans & rice

1 Tbspolive oil, good quality

2 Tbsptomato sauce

1 clovegarlic, minced

1 Tbspsofrito -tomato cooking sauce

2 pkgsazon with coriander and annatto

15 ozsmall red beans

1 1/2 cwhite rice

1/2 tspsugar
How To Make easy cuban beans & rice

1Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add tomato sauce, garlic, sofrito and sazon, cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

2Drain liquid from the can of red beans into measuring cup; add enough water to measure 3½ cups. Add all of the liquid to pot; bring to boil. Add beans, rice and sugar; stir. Bring rice mixture to a boil; reduce heat to medium low and cook, covered, until water is absorbed, about 20 min.

3Remove pot from heat. Let sit until rice becomes tender, about 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork. Serve.
