Broccoli Gardening Tips: Broccoli needs cooler weather, full sun, water and rich soil. Your broccoli should have least 6 hours of sun daily and have well-drained, moist soil with plenty of organic matter. Mulch will help keep the ground moist.The soil pH should be between 6.0 and 7.0 for best growth. Improve your soil by mixing in fertilizer. Broccoli likes moisture to grow fast and produce well, so water regularly, applying 1 to 1.5 inches of water per week if rain doesn’t cover it. Ingredients For broccoli-rice & cheese casserole

  • 1/2 stick
    butter
  • 1 lg
    bunch fresh broccoli, blanced
  • 1 md
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can
    cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    kraft cheez whiz
  • 2 c
    cooked, white rice
  • 1 c
    shredded cheddar cheese

How To Make broccoli-rice & cheese casserole

    In a deep skillet, melt butter over medium heat. When butter is melted, add onion. Saute until softened. Add chopped broccoli and sautee for a minute or two longer.

    Add the soup, milk, rice and cheez whiz to vegetable mixture.

    Pour into a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup grated cheddar. Bake at 350(F) degrees for 15-20 minutes.
